Dr. Syed F. Zaidi is a Vascular and Interventional Neurologist whose career bridges advanced clinical practice, academic excellence, and a deep commitment to global health equity. At the University of Toledo and ProMedica Toledo Hospital, he directs comprehensive stroke and neurointerventional programs, where he has led innovations in patient care, research, and education.

Dr. Zaidi has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and serves as principal investigator in international clinical trials focused on neurovascular devices, thrombolytic therapies, and stroke systems of care. His academic contributions bring together engineering, translational science, and frontline medicine, establishing him as a leader in advancing stroke intervention worldwide.

As founder of the Pakistan Stroke Initiative (PSI), Dr. Zaidi has mobilized expertise, training, and resources to expand access to advanced stroke care in Pakistan. His vision is bold and transformative: to establish the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in Karachi at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), in partnership with the Patient Aid Foundation. Equipped with a state-of-the-art neuro-biplane angiography suite, specialized stroke units, and fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Neurology, this center will serve as a model for sustainable, world-class stroke care in the region.

Through PSI, Dr. Zaidi is committed to building not just an institution, but a movement—ensuring that patients, regardless of geography, have access to timely, life-saving treatment and the promise of recovery.
